THE THREE STOOGES - INTERVIEWS WITH LARRY FINE & MOE HOWARD (1973)

The Three Stooges were an American vaudeville and comedy team active from 1922 until 1970, best known for their 190 short subject films by Columbia Pictures that have been regularly airing on television since 1958. Their hallmark was physical farce and slapstick. In films, the stooges were commonly known by their actual first names. Six stooges appeared over the act's run (with only three active at any given time): Moe Howard and Larry Fine were mainstays throughout the ensemble's nearly fifty-year run.
If you're a Three Stooges fan, this is a priceless DVD to have in your collection. This disc contains one 22 min B&W 1973 interview with Larry Fine conducted by a CalArts graduate student at the Motion Picture Country Home, an industry retirement community where Fine lived in Woodland Hills, CA.  Larry at this time had suffered a stroke which affected his left side and his speech somewhat, but his mind is as sharp as a tack.
Also from 1973 is a collection of three appearances by Moe Howard on the Mike Douglas Show.  You’ll laugh when Moe teaches Mike and co-host Ted Knight (“The Mary Tyler Moore Show”) the art of pie throwing! Plus, a skit featuring country music performer Roger Miller and actress Julie Newmar.
