Step into a world of mystery, magic, and intrigue with the captivating 1973 TV series The Magician. It stars Bill Bixby as the charismatic Anthony "Tony" Blake, a master illusionist who uses his skills to fight crime and solve baffling cases.

Tony is not just any magician; he’s a playboy philanthropist who uses his talents as an illusionist to solve crimes and help others in need. After being falsely imprisoned himself, Blake escaped and now uses his unjust imprisonment as a motivator to seek justice for others. With his private jet and a myriad of gadgets at his disposal, along with his vast knowledge of illusion and sleight of hand, he travels from city to city, taking on new challenges and outwitting dangerous foes to uncover the truth behind perplexing mysteries.

In the first half of the series Tony lived on his high-tech jet, the "Spirit," along with his trusty assistant and live-in pilot, Jerry Wallace (Jim Watkins) and would frequently receive assistance in solving cases from columnist Max Pomeroy (Keene Curtis), and Max's brilliant son Dennis (Todd Crespi). Midway through the program's run Blake took up residence in a posh apartment at The Magic Castle, a real club devoted to magic acts in Los Angeles, California. At the same time, the supporting cast of the show was replaced with a new, single character, Dominick (Joseph Sirola), a somewhat comical sidekick.

Airing only one season (1973-1974), the series featured guest appearances by Mark Hamill (Star Wars), William Shatner (Star Trek), Jessica Walter (Arrested Development), and John Colicos (Battlestar Galactic), among others.

Each episode of The Magician is filled with suspense, clever plot twists, and mind-bending tricks that will leave you guessing until the very end. Bill Bixby's charming and dynamic portrayal of Tony Blake makes for an unforgettable viewing experience, blending the worlds of magic and crime-solving in a unique and thrilling way, making this DVD set is a must-have for all fans of classic TV, magic, and 70s crime dramas.

NOTE: Bixby, an amateur magician himself, did all his own magic tricks and all episodes were preceded by an announcement that no trick photography was used in the filming of the episodes.
