Before finding fame as McGarrett on Hawaii Five-O, Jack Lord starred as Stoney Burke, a rodeo rider competing for the Golden Buckle the award given to the world champion saddle bronc rider. Stories followed Stoney as he traveled from rodeo to rodeo, following his dream.  During his quest Stoney becomes entangled in the lives of numerous people, helping them and getting into and out of trouble. He is sometimes accompanied by his friends Ves Painter (Warren Oates), E.J. Stocker (Bruce Dern), Cody (Robert Dowdell) and Red (Bill Hart). Filmed on location in the scenic Southwest.
