Gar (Des Cave) a young Irishman, leaves his dull Gaelic community for the U.S. to live with his aunt Lizzy in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  The hero has an alter ego, seen only by himself and the audience: The public Gar holds back his true emotions, while the private Gar (Donal McCann) tells the brutal (and often funny) truth.

Also stars Siobhan McKenna, Eamon A. Kelly, Fidelma Murphy, Liam Redmond.
